Tonga

[Home] [Up] [Tongan Blowholes]

We spent a full week in Tonga. We stayed on Fafa Island, a tiny little island (you could walk the entire circumference in 30 minutes) that was a half-hour boat ride from the main island. Tonga was beautiful. Our "fale" (the Tongan word for cottage) was right on the beach. We could look out from our bed and see the sunrise to one side and, later, the sunset on the other side.

Here's the fale:

We also poked around the main island on a couple of days.

A Tongan Cemetery.
They really believe in decorating. This isn't one of the Royal Cemeteries -- just a normal one.

Another self-portrait attempts.

Still more silly self-portait attempts.

On the Northern coast of the main island.

One of the more impressive sights was the blowholes on the northern coast.
