Hate to say it but it was one member doing all the trolling, Alex Almeroth. Now that we have a way of ignoring him everything is running well.

As you see the slashdotters find you everywhere. That's why someone called them net thugs. They will insult you if you don't agree with them.

The Wolf is a linux user who hate microsoft, you can search him on the net, and strictly use GNU. He doesn't have any idea on Javascript vs JScript and claims that because Microsoft named its own javascript as jscript (javascript name belongs to Netscape), it is not compatible with ECMA-262 which is commonly referred as Javascript because of historical reasons. Javascript Definitive Guide disagrees with him of course and says that IE is the first browser that fully supported Javascript 1.2. You probably know slashdotters anyway, so no need to give more details about this particular issue.

By the way, I am Alex Almeroth and I am a Linux developer myself. Unfortunately idiots from Slashdot make it look like all Linux users are idiot, but that's really not the case. I think Slashdot made it more appealing for these kids to be more like an idiot when it comes to these issues. When ignorance and hate meet, you know what happens. The Wolf doesn't know well enough about Javascript and thus he came up with weird scenarios and conspiracy theories. I first thought he was spreading some FUD, but later on reaelized that he really doesn't know what he is talking about at all. A friend of mine working in mysql co. has a very nice quote for this situation, Microsoft is an idiot magnet. Sounds ironic but the guy is really smart.
